Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: if you’re watching this video you’re thinking about starting your own drone business well it’s nice to meet you I’m Jefferson Davis from drone camps RC you might have seen me on the Internet if you’ve been looking for how to fly a drone or DJI drones in general drone camps has been around since the very beginning of this whole drone craze so I’m here today to share some of my experiences with you mainly because you’re thinking about starting some type of drone business involving something like this the iconic se phantom 4 Pro we use as an example now if you’re thinking about starting a drone business there are a lot of factors that you need to think about before you make this leap into this decision number one are you currently employed number two do you have the capital to start this business number three do you have the time and most importantly do you have what it takes to go out and get these jobs this is the most important factor of starting any drone business or even thinking about attempting to get video jobs I’ve had calls from all different levels of businesses all the way to the top level of government in the United States people calling from resource departments at huge corporations I’ve had calls from guys and girls looking to start just a sole proprietor business and other folks just looking to add a drone into their business as part of what they do but I can’t stress enough that the most important thing about your drone business is going to be you it’s not the drone it’s going to be you chances are if you are successful before you will be successful with your drone company however if you don’t have a good track record of dealing with the public going up to the top floor of a lot of these corporations and standing in front of a board meeting and giving a full presentation on what you’re gonna do how it’s going to benefit their company and what they can expect from you as a result of your actions with your drone in their business environment and you’re gonna have to be able to communicate this information with them effectively in a very very formal environment now if you’re just gonna do it on the side and get your 107 and sell a couple pictures here and there it’s not a big deal but if you’re deciding to do this putting all of your hard-earned assets all of your savings into this business before you get started ask yourself those questions please because I was saying I have hundreds of examples of different people out there that have tried to start these businesses and flat-out failed one of my first builds for my business early 2014 when I just got drunk camp started as an actual store we were working with DJI and other companies and selling huge aerial industrial rigs I’m talking fifteen to twenty thousand dollar rigs setting them up with really nice DSLR cameras huge zenmuse gimbals and all the bells and whistles now people call me from all over the country to get these set up for them get them set up properly for their specific needs and we did that we work well with people and we communicated with people but some of the issues are the fact that after they got the equipment there was a little bit of a technology barrier between them and the jobs they were trying to do the next thing was that sometimes they had failures and they had drones come back to be repaired after a catastrophic crash or something went wrong and the drone just crashed all over the place and they lost their DSLR and the rest of their equipment so there’s a lot of expenses that are gonna be put into this if you are going for the big time jobs now secondly it’s going to be your insurance and you’re also going to have to have contracts with companies to work with them on a lot of these jobs as well as if you’re thinking about government contracts there’s a lot of paperwork that you’re gonna have to do between yourself and the entity that you’re trying to acquire monetary funds from now case in point a friend of mine very good friend of mine set up something with us and we helped him put together something that was around fifteen thousand dollars he opened up a new credit card account to finance this job and after it was all said and done he took the drone out he started up a new website he took all the time to build his own website he’s an IT professional as well and video producer and after about a year and a half I came back to him and talked to him about how things were going and he actually told me he was thinking about falling back on his original video production jobs because the drone jobs were just not as easy as he thought they were gonna be to get now he was also living in Chicago and Seattle so there’s a two of the biggest cities in the country aside from LA in New York but even though he was very versed at communication going to these big businesses high-rise of buildings and giving these dog-and-pony speeches to different boards and trying to convince people to get these jobs from him his website was very good he had good examples the business just didn’t fly no pun intended now another friend of mine got really excited and this is kind of like when you get into a relationship with someone that you’re probably not supposed to be with and everyone around you kind of sees you doing this and putting all your time and efforts into this thing that they know might not work out for you but they see how passionate you are about it so they’re gonna support you anyway and that’s where I came in with my friend on this next example here II mortgaged his house with his wife’s blessing to start up his drone business and he had more gear at his house than anyone I know he had the best of the best and again the problem came down to the fact that he could not secure and land enough jobs to make it a profitable venture time weather circumstances you’re you have a failure on the job of your electronics or communication with your employees so many things are apt to go wrong at any different time for any particular job so you always have to be on the lookout so don’t open up any new credit cards don’t refinance your house take the capital that you already have if you already have existing capital and do it on the side if you already have a business and you already have something going with a business or you’re an employee of another business don’t quit your jobs start a drone business and think that you’re gonna make a living off of aerial photography it’s just like starting any other business it is a risk and you need to think about those risks and plan out and map out those risks before you decide to remortgage your house or put yourself in serious debt now my suggestion to you if you already have a business and you’re thinking about incorporating drones into your existing business this is probably the best way to do this if you’re gonna add this as something else to bring to your clients then it’s absolutely justifiable for getting your 107 and getting started with your drone business but there is a huge reality check for a lot of people around the world who think they’re just gonna get this technology and you’re going to be super loaded so again I can stress enough it’s not the drone it’s not the technology it’s not the infatuation that the public has with this technology and all the amazing things that these drones can do it all comes down to you and it all comes down to you if you think you can go out and get those jobs if you think you could get one or two or three jobs starting out with your drone business don’t get started if you think you can get a hundred jobs for your drone business then you might have a chance but this is sobering news and information coming from someone who has been in the drone industry for years and years I’ve just about seen it all out there but I’m not here to burst your bubble if you’re thinking about starting a drone business or you’re going to head in that direction anyway regardless of what you watched in this video or my advice to you today if you’re going to do it then do it and enjoy the process that’s what it’s all about for me it’s about enjoying what I do while I’m flying and while I’m in the air it is is definitely one of the big stories of my life now if it becomes that for you I absolutely will support you in that and your endeavors with the ideas that you have but sometimes taking your passions and trying to apply them to your finances sometimes for some people does not work out so just want to plant that seed in your mind think about that this is the most important thing about your drone business is you and not the technology it is up to you to go out and search out those jobs if you put ads out there it doesn’t mean people are going to respond to it so it’s going to be up to you solely you to be able to get those jobs and land those jobs and get those checks to you so good luck to anyone out there who’s starting a drone business if you’re thinking about it if you’ve already got your 107 and you’re working to get those jobs get out there and get a man you got a lot of work to do so until next time thanks again for watching I’m Justin Davis the drone camps RC I’ll see you on the next one you [Music] .
